587 BCE- King Zedekiah was caught fleeing the city of Jerusalem and brought to Riblah, during the 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign. Nebuchadnezzar forced him to witness the slaughter of his sons, and then ordered his eyes gouged out and sent him to Babylon, fulfilling the prophecy of Ezekiel.

 

1720- A fast day was established by the Jewish community of Frankfurt-am-Main to mark the escape of the residents of the Jewish quarter from harm during a major fire in the city.

 

1834- The community of Tzefat was saved from Arab "rioters".
