WFT- diurnal

27 July 2009

The Merriam-Webster Word of the Day for July 7th was diurnal.

Here is the definition:

1 : recurring every day 2 : of, relating to, or occurring in the daytime

Here are a few passages that come to mind:

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth. - Proverbs 27:1

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Matthew 6:34

May we focus on the matters before us today.  Praise be to G-d, His mercies are renewed daily (Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV).

Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. - Matthew 24:42

Daily we should watch for Him and be prepared.

Give us each day our daily bread. - Luke 11:3

Daily we should be thankful for both the bread for our flesh and for the Bread of G-d's Word.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.  (1 Tim 1:17)
