Voice Like Many Waters

19 July 2009

My wonderful bride, Amy, and I recently traveled to Oregon and Washington. What a beautiful land G-d has made!

As we traveled around Oregon we visited a number of waterfalls. The experiences there were very moving for both of us. When we returned home Amy mentioned some passages that came to mind when we were at the falls.

Here are some photos and the passages she related:

and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory. (Ezekiel 43:2)

I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings. (Ezekiel 1:24)

His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.
(Revelation 1:15)

And I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. (Revelation 14:2)
And he said with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters." (Revelation 14:7)
Amen.
