SOLOMON AND THE QUEEN OF SHEBA - Giovanni Demin (1789-1859)Our recent studies of the writings of the prophets have brought our attention to the era of the kings of Israel and Judah.  Psalm11918.org is pleased to present this interactive timeline of the kings and prophets of Israel and Judah to assist our readers in their understanding of this period of history.

While primarily focused on the events of the divided kingdom, the timeline extends from the time of Saul (around 1042 BCE) through the period of Judah after the Temple was reconstructed (circa 513 BCE).

Keying off of scholars' commonly held date for the destruction of Solomon's Temple in 586 BCE, this timeline primarily uses Scripture to determine the dates of events from King David through the prophet Malachi.  Informed by Eliezer Shulman's book, "The Sequence of Events in the Old Testament" and enlightened by the writings of the sages of Israel via their second century tome "The Seder Olam Rabbah", this timeline offers a variation on both traditional Jewish and Christian timelines.  The Psalm11918.org team has invested numerous hours of study and development in this resource and we pray you will be blessed by it.

We highly recommend you view the timeline in a maximized window.  You can drag the timeline horizontally, use your mouse-wheel, or use your cursor keys to scroll through the events of the Bible.  The bottom portion of the timeline includes secular events as historical context.  You can also click on events for more details including relevant Scriptural references.
